It’s easy to compare yourself to someone else when you’re trying to degrade yourself. Now don’t get me wrong, comparing yourself to a great leader can be a good thing if that person inspires you to be a better version of yourself, but many times we compare ourselves to others because we think they’re lives are better than ours. The spirit of comparison is generally a demonic spirit that tells you that you’ll never be good enough.

Comparison is a deceiving spirit that prevents you from stepping into the promises of God in your life; it puts your mind in a place where you think you’ll never succeed at anything because other people you know have already tried what you did and failed. The worst thing you can do when you start stepping into Gods divine plan for your life is to look down at the troubled waves of life instead of looking ahead to Jesus. Analyzing the lives of other people who’ve failed in life and trying to not¬†be like them does not work!

What you focus on becomes your reality whether you want it to be or not. Focusing solely on the finished work of Christ is what makes heavens reality your own. If King David would have put all of his focus on comparing himself with the other mighty warriors who tried to fight Goliath and failed, he would never have killed him with a mere slingshot! It doesn’t matter how many people tell you it can’t be done, it doesn’t matter if no one believes in you, and it doesn’t matter how many other people have failed in something similar to what you’re trying to accomplish. All that matters is that God has called you, and when He calls, doors open for you that no man can shut. Comparing yourself to Jesus is what turns a dream into a reality.
